Commission On The Status Of Women - 51st  Session


The fifty-first session of the Commission on the Status of Women took place from 26 February to 9 March 2007. In accordance with its multi-year programme of work for 2007-2009, the Commission considered “The elimination of all forms of discrimination and violence against the girl child” as its priority theme.
Based on this theme, an was also held from 14 August to 8 September 2006. DAW, in collaboration with the UNICEF, also organized an Expert Group Meeting (EGM) on this theme. The EGM was hosted by the UNICEF Innocenti Research Centre in Florence, Italy, from 25 to 28 September 2006.
