When a New York City teen has their art or writing displayed in one of the world's greatest museums, right here in their hometown, the impact is life changing. Students begin to see themselves as real artists and original thinkers and the experience helps kids develop new, creative approaches that they can apply in their current day-to-day experience and beyond, said Virginia McEnerney, Executive Director of the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers.?
The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers will also hold an opening evening event on Friday, March 24, from 6 to 8 p.m. This reception is open to the public.
