Third coordination meeting on international migration

Overview
In response to General Assembly Resolution 58/208 of 13 February 2004 on International Migration and Development, which requests the Secretary-General to continue convening meetings to coordinate activities regarding international migration, the Population Division of the Department of Economic and Social Affairs of the United Nations is organizing the Third Coordination Meeting on International Migration at United Nations Headquarters in New York from 27 to 28 October 2004.
The main objective of the meeting is to discuss substantive issues related to the preparation of the High-level Dialogue on International Migration and Development that the General Assembly will conduct during its sixty-first session in 2006. In particular, the meeting aims to identify key aspects of international migration and development that should be considered in the Dialogue. Participants of the meeting will also share information on the most recent activities of their organizations in the area of international migration and development.
