INFORMATION NOTE FOR PARTICIPANTS
1. Format
The LDC Future Forum will be held in a hybrid format, from 5 to 7 October 2021. The in-person event will be held in Helsinki, Finland, starting at 18:00hrs, Helsinki time.
The virtual format will be accessible via Zoom. The Zoom link will be shared with all participants ahead of the start of the LDC Future Forum.
2. Venue for the in-person meeting

3. Travel
For all participants attending the conference in person, in order to take full advantage of the programme, it is recommended that you arrive in Helsinki at the latest in the morning of 5 October 2021, and plan to depart on 8 October 2021.
Accordingly, travel arrangements for sponsored participants will be made through UN-OHRLLS, which will provide them with a round trip economy class air ticket and daily subsistence allowance (DSA), in accordance with United Nations travel guidelines. All other participants are requested to make their own travel arrangements.
No air tickets should be purchased by the sponsored travelers themselves unless prior authorization has been received from UN-OHRLLS.
4. Visas and Requirements to Enter Finland during the COVID-19 Pandemic
A visa to visit Finland ¨C you will need an entry permit for a short, temporary visit of less than 90 days:

Please check with your nearest Embassy if you need a Schengen visa to travel to Finland.
Participants are required to make their own VISA arrangements at the Finnish consulate or embassy nearest to their place of residence. A list of Finnish consulates and embassies can be found .
OHRLLS will provide letters to all authors and speakers, which may be included among the supporting documents to be submitted to the embassy.
Additional information on entry to Finland during the COVID-19 pandemic
Persons who have received a complete and valid vaccination series may?be granted entry into Finland from any country, provided that at least 14 days have passed since the last vaccine dose has been received.?

5. Transportation to and from the airport
Helsinki-Vantaa Airport is located in Vantaa, about 17 kilometers from the center of Helsinki. Travelers may use various types of transportation to and from the airport. More detailed information can be found .
The entrance to the train station is in the corridor between the terminals. The trains run frequently, approximately in every 10 minutes. The ride to Helsinki city center takes about 20-30 minutes. The cost is around EUR 5,50 and you can buy the ticket at the vending machines at the airport. The Helsinki Railway Station is located in the heart of the city and you can find a taxi stand at the main station to take you further to your destination or hotel.
A taxi from the airport to the center of Helsinki takes about 30 minutes and costs around EUR 45 to 50. The taxi stands are located right outside the arrival areas of the terminals. There are also three taxi operators at Helsinki Airport that offer special taxi services, fixed fare shared taxi, tours and charter rides. You can pay by cash or card. No tipping is necessary.
6. Hotel accommodation
All participants will be responsible for paying accommodation and other expenses incurred during their stay.

7. Daily Subsistence Allowance (DSA) disbursement
UN-OHRLLS will provide DSA to sponsored participants to cover accommodation costs, terminal expenses and meals.
DSA will be disbursed, upon presentation of passport and original boarding pass on Tuesday 5 October at the venue of the Forum. Non-sponsored participants are responsible for their own expenses.
8. Registration
In-person registration for the conference will open on 5 October from 17:00hrs onwards at the registration desk at the venue of the Forum (Wanha Satama). The Forum will start at 18:00 hrs.
9. Meals
All conference participants will be provided with lunch on both conference days.
10. Conference presentations
Please bring your presentation to the session on a USB flash drive and upload it to the conference laptop in your assigned room prior to the start of your session.
Please also email a back-up copy in advance by 1 October 2021 to chibuye@un.org. Name your presentation in the following form: Lastname_firstname.ppt or Lastname_firstname.pdf.
11. Conference programme
The latest edition of the conference programme is available at the LDC5 Future Forum website. There will be no paper copies available at the conference.
12. Working Languages
The Meeting will be conducted in English and French. Simultaneous interpretation services will be provided.
