The applicant contested before the former UNAT a decision concerning the retroactive correction of her step in grade and the related amount to be recovered from her. After the case was transferred to the UNDT, the parties were invited to advise the Tribunal whether the matter could be referred for mediation in accordance with article 15 of the rules of procedure. At a directions hearing, counsel for the respondent advised that it may be possible, subject to the Controller’s approval, to propose an offer of settlement. The applicant advised the Tribunal that she would accept the offer if proposed. Counsel for the respondent subsequently filed with the Tribunal the copy of a “Settlement and Release Agreement” reached between the parties and the applicant wrote to the Tribunal to withdraw her appeal.
