Adopted by world leaders at a historic UN summit in 2015, the 17 SDGs are a global plan of action to eliminate poverty, reduce inequality, and build a sustainable world. Each Goal has specific targets to be achieved by 2030. For the Goals to be reached, everyone needs to do their part: governments, the private sector, civil society and creators like you.
The UN, in collaboration with the UN Foundation and the Hollywood, Health & Society (HH&S) program of the USC Annenberg Norman Lear Center, has launched a global on-air/online “Make a PSA” campaign to raise public awareness of the SDGs.
Television, film and streaming services are uniquely positioned to reach massive audiences across national borders and cultures. The UN hopes to borrow the industry’s creativity, content and global reach to bring the 17 Goals to viewers worldwide through PSAs that are directly linked to the themes of participating shows.
