Forest art

If a forest picture is worth a thousand words, an international art contest celebrating forests should be rendered priceless. In celebration of the International Year of Forests, the United Nations Forum on Forests Secretariat partnered with the Gabarrón Foundation in convening the 34th International Children’s Art Contest, with a theme of “Celebrate the Forests.” The contest challenged children and youth between 5 and 14 years of age to use the power of imagery to increase awareness on forests’ many benefits, while promoting public responsibility in sustaining these natural resources for present and future generations.
