Informal Meeting of Directors-General on the UN Development Cooperation Forum
Organised by
Office for ECOSOC Support and Coordination, Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA)
Summary
As a multi-stakeholder platform, the UN Development Cooperation Forum (DCF) brings together decision makers from developing and developed countries, parliamentarians, local and regional governments, civil society organizations, private philanthropic organizations, academia and international organizations to reflect on how development cooperation can best help achieve development goals. The DCF has a clear, broad mandate to review trends and progress in, and encourage discussion around, the future of international development cooperation, while promoting greater coherence in development policy and among partners.
The Directors-General will gather to informally exchange thoughts on the substantive focus of DCF’s work in the post-2015 era. The discussion will produce ideas on the Forum’s positioning in a post-2015 and post-FFD III world and how it can best promote a strong narrative for development cooperation in supporting the new global agenda.
