Organised by

- Financing for Development
- Eco Bank
- General Electric
- White Ribbon Alliance for Safe Motherhood
Summary
As international donor funding for HIV and other health programs begins to plateau and resources are focused on the most urgent needs, countries must identify sustainable alternative (non-donor) resources to support health systems. The panel discussion will focus on the role that donors, host governments, CSOs, and the private sector are playing to generate policy actions for sustainable health financing.
Specific examples will be given from:
• Global level – The Canadian Governments’ leadership in global maternal health and nutrition
• Private sector – Alternative financing mechanisms to support short-term financing for health commodities, strategic costing and policy support
• National Legislative level – The MP movement for increased family planning resources in Malawi
• NGO level – Accountability, transparency and advocacy with the White Ribbon Alliance for Safe Motherhood in Tanzania
Participants will be invited to engage in the conversation through sharing of their own experiences and discussing the future of sustainable health financing.
