Summary
The event will discuss views and recommendations on financing for development from the lens of development justice — an alternative framework for development broadly embraced by civil society in Asia and the Pacific – and human rights. Will FfD3 advance the realization of human rights and development justice or will it further push the world into inequality and unsustainability? Discussions will look into challenges in mobilizing adequate resources, particularly public finance; protecting public welfare in engaging with the private sector; and monitoring and follow-up mechanisms to foster accountability to people, especially the poor.
