Summary
The last fifteen years of the MDGs have led to unprecedented gains in global health and economic development, but the impact is not equitably felt across populations. Although country income is growing rapidly, achievements in health often lag behind. The SDGs have a strong commitment to leaving no one behind, providing an unprecedented opportunity to place equity at the centre of a global health agenda. This provides an opportunity for donors, partner countries, and civil society to discuss their respective roles in financing and achieving equitable access to health.
