Schedules
Selection
The UN Network on Migration’s Executive Committee will select the side-events according to the following criteria.
Selection criteria will include:
- Level of speakers
- Diversity of speakers, including gender
- Inclusion of stakeholders in the panels
- Region covered (to ensure a geographical balance during the selection)
- Priority will be given to events that are geared towards concrete outcomes and deliverables
- Priority will be given to events with innovative setup
- Availability of timeslots
Format
- Due to current COVID-19 related restrictions on room space, current planning is for side events to take place either virtually or off UN premises.
- To avoid overlapping with the IRMF itself, side events will take place outside of the official conference hours (before 10 AM, between 1 PM and 3 PM, after 6 PM).
- To avoid parallel side events, this would allow for two 1h events in the morning, one during the lunch break and one in the evening. This would mean 16 events over four days and another four during the multi-stakeholder hearing – 20 in total.
