Bold Actions for Food as a Force for Good

Event date:
23 Nov 2020 - 07:00 to 24 Nov 2020 - 06:00
Location:
Virtual

To feed more than 10 billion people within our planetary boundaries by 2050, while ending hunger and tackling unhealthy diets, we will have to fundamentally change the food system, requiring co-ordinated and large-scale action by all stakeholders across multiple axes. The 'Bold Actions for Food as a Force for Good' event will be co-hosted by 13 organisations on November 23 and 24. The sessions are in support of the 2021 UN Food Systems Summit (UNFSS) and will seek to develop concrete, multi-stakeholder input into priorities, challenges, opportunities, and game-changing solutions.

Event objectives:

1. To agree on an initial set of bold actions & science-based principles to change the food system, to be adopted between now and the Summit.

2. To identify an initial set of scalable, potential ‘game changer’ initiatives to achieve a sustainable food system; and to agree on the partnerships, funding and innovation hubs needed to implement these and accelerate their global scale-up in the run-up to the Summit.

3. To create a global network of leaders at all levels to drive transformative change for sustainable food systems and involve the next generation.
