Are companies on track for food systems transformation?
Find out how the World Benchmarking Alliance is assessing the 350 most influential companies worldwide
Food systems transformation requires large-scale action led by those who drive environmental, health and social impact and the private sector plays a critical, contributing role. The World Benchmarking Alliance’s (WBA) Food and Agriculture Benchmark aims to translate what is needed of the private sector into clear business asks across the entire food system agenda. Acting as the private sector accountability mechanism, it will measure the performance of the 350 most influential companies across the value chain on topics relating to environment, nutrition and social inclusion.
With the first full ranking to be published at the UN’s Food System Summit 2021, the WBA is excited to launch now a prelude, with its baseline report. The baseline report is a snapshot of the commitments companies have made on key topics, painting an overall picture of trends across sectors, regions and issues. With this assessment therefore comes not only an urgent call to action, but brings clarity to ‘the how’, outlining food system approach for the private sector across the 2030 Agenda.
