Regional Preparatory Meetings
During its August 2007 organizational session, the Preparatory Committee called upon States and regional organizations (Decision PC.1/11) to hold international, regional and national meetings in preparation for the Review Conference.
The Preparatory Committee requested the States and regional organizations to submit reports on the outcome of their deliberations through the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights.
Furthermore, in December 2007, the General Assembly called upon 鈥淢ember States that are in a position to do so to offer to host the regional preparatory conferences in their regions, consistent with the objectives of the Durban Review Conference, and to ensure the widest possible participation in those conferences, whose outcomes will contribute to the deliberations of the Preparatory Committee,鈥� ()
