Today, the UN Postal Administration (UNPA) is pleased to announce the release of new ¡°United Against Racism and Discrimination¡± stamps that recognize the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (held annually on 21 March).

UNPA worked closely with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to issue these stamps.

The Declaration on Race and Racial Prejudice, adopted by UNESCO, reaffirms that ¡°All human beings belong to a single species and are descended from a common stock. They are born equal in dignity and rights and all form an integral part of humanity.¡±

This important text appears on the stamp sheets in English, French, and German.

The stamp artwork is from the against Racism and Discrimination, which seeks to empower students to become youth champions in their schools and communities, and to spread awareness on how to deconstruct the social and economic mechanisms underlying racism and discrimination.

In addition to the stamps, UNPA is issuing a souvenir card which carries statements by Secretary-General Ant¨®nio Guterres and the UNECSO Director-General Audrey Azoulay.

¡°Together, let us unite to end racism and discrimination in all its forms. Everyone should enjoy a sense of belonging and safety and have an equal opportunity to contribute to the success of our shared future,¡± said the Secretary-General.
