UN Headquarters may be closed, but the Library is always open!? Virtually, that is.
In response to inquiries from Permanent Mission staff, the Dag Hammarskj?ld Library has created a platform for staff and delegates to access the Library’s subscription resources remotely while we work away from Headquarters?during the COVID-19 pandemic.? Under normal circumstances, Permanent Mission staff are only permitted to access subscription resources while visiting the UN Headquarters complex in person.? We are pleased to offer this interim solution to meet the research needs of our clients at the Missions.
Some of the available resources include:
- The Economist
- Foreign Policy
- Africa Confidential
- ProQuest Central, a large database that includes thousands of electronic journals, e-books, and newspapers
The new access platform is supported by the Library’s Open Athens authentication system which allows all New York Secretariat staff to access library resources remotely using their UNITE IDs.?
