The World Urban Forum, established in 2001, has grown into one of the largest gatherings for urban sustainability and development, held every two years to tackle the global impacts of rapid urban growth.
This year’s record-breaking attendance underscored the urgency of these issues. More than 63,000 attendees participated across five days in dialogues, sessions, and interactive discussions designed to spark tangible solutions.?
Prince Bruce, the Event Security Coordinator, detailed security preparations, including exercising a 24/7 Integrated Security Plan to include daily security assessments.
“Our integrated support with host government security agencies created a secure and conducive environment for all,” he shared. Over 60 Department of Safety and Security (DSS) officers drawn from Arusha, Geneva, Nairobi, Thailand, and New York provided security support at the Egypt International Exhibition Centre.?
Thanks to these security measures, the forum concluded without any security incidents.
