Good morning. It gives me the greatest pleasure to warmly welcome you all to our magnificent and environmentally friendly UNON Gigiri complex, where the 鈥榞reening the blue鈥 initiative comes vibrantly to life! First, in the context of the recent heavy floods experienced in Kenya that have ravaged the country and the broader East Africa region, I would like to extend the UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres鈥 message of support and condolences to the Governments and people of the countries affected, especially the families of those who have lost loved ones or sustained injuries as a result of the floods.

( Nairobi, 09 April 2024 )- The Rwanda High Commissioner in Kenya, Mr. Martin Ngoga, opened the 30th anniversary commemoration of the 1994 Genocide Against the Tutsi at the United Nations Offices at Nairobi (UNON). This solemn event, themed "Remember, Unite, Renew," was conducted in collaboration with the United Nations in Kenya and drew members from the Rwanda diaspora in Kenya and various representatives from the Diplomatic Corps.

Ceremony for the International Day of Commemoration in memory of the victims of the Holocaust at UNON

In a vibrant gathering of memory and learning, the UN Office at Nairobi (UNON) marked the International Day in Memory of the Victims of the Holocaust on January 30, 2024. More than 400 students from Kenyan higher education institutions joined diplomats, religious leaders, and UN officials to commemorate the solemn day.
