The Annual Statistical Report on Procurement by United Nations organizations (ASR) is a publication that has been produced by UNOPS for the last 31 years.
The 2014 report compiles information from 35 agencies in total, increasing the number of 2013. This year the report includes information provided by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the International Maritime Organization (IMO).
The data is organized in procurement of goods and services based on the country supplier or country contractor. The categorization of countries and territories is based on the one used by the Statistics Division, Department of Economic and Social Affairs of the United Nations. The 5 major countries supplying UN organizations in 2014 are: United States of America, India, Afghanistan, Belgium, and Switzerland.
The overall procurement volume (goods and services combined) of UN organizations in 2014 increased to $17.2 billion, from $16.1 billion in 2013 ‒ an increase of 7.2%. UNICEF, UNPD and WFP increased their procurement volume and together represent 97.7% of the total increase of procurement volume from 2013 to 2014.
