From 6 to 8 October 2019, CTED conducted a focused visit to the Maldives. This is CTED’s first visit to the Maldives. In addition to CTED experts, the delegation included experts from UNODC TBC, and the ISIL/Al Qaeda/Taliban sanctions monitoring team. The delegation examined legal and criminal justice issues; law enforcement and border control issues; as well as issues relating to countering violent extremism and human rights.
