The COVID-19 pandemic’s impact spans the economic, social, environmental and political spheres, with the LLDCs likely amongst those most impacted.
It will undoubtedly pose serious constraints on the pursuit of LLDCs in achieving the goals and targets of the Vienna Programme of Action and the SDGs.

NEW YORK, 5?December 2019?–?The United Nations General Assembly today adopted a political declaration reaffirming commitments by the international community to address the special development needs of the world’s thirty-two Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs).
UN-OHRLLS and the Government of Mongolia is organizing this meeting to facilitate sharing of experiences on effective transit transport corridor development, functioning and management for the benefit of LLDCs and transit countries.

SANTIAGO, 11 June 2019 – Midway through the ten-year programme of action for the world’s thirty-two landlocked developing countries, officials from landlocked and transit countries in the Latin America and Caribbean region are meeting to take stock of their collective progress in implementing the Vienna Programme of Action.
This paper reviews progress made by LLDCs in Asia and Europe in structural economic transformation (Priority 5 of the Vienna Program of Action - VPoA). It covers 10 Asian (Afghanistan, Nepal, Bhutan, Lao PDR, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan) and 4 European (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Macedonia and Republic of Moldova) LLDCs.
