He presided over the United Nations Security Council during Jordan's two-year non-permanent membership on the Council from 2014 to 2015. Throughout his career in public service, and particularly as Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Judeh worked tirelessly and passionately to address the key challenges facing the Middle East region and the world at large at the heart of which has been the pursuit of peace between Palestinians and Israelis. Finding a political solution in war-ravaged Syria and addressing the humanitarian spillover of that crisis, as well as confronting the danger and threat of radicalization, extremism and global terrorism are the other key challenges Mr. Judeh focused on in his tenure as Foreign Minister. He has advocated and continues to advocate His Majesty King Abdullah's vision of peace, dialogue and political solutions for regional and international issues and promoted the true message of Islam as a religion of peace and openness. In addition to his responsibility as a Senator, Mr. Judeh is the Vice-Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Jordan World Affairs Council and serves on several regional and international boards.
