Amended Executive Summary

On 22 August 2017, the Portuguese Republic transmitted to the Commission on the Limits of the Continental Shelf, through the Secretary-General, an Amended Executive Summary to its submission. It is recalled that that submission was made, pursuant to article 76, paragraph 8, of the Convention, on 11 May 2009. On 1 August 2017, Portugal transmitted an Addendum to the submission based on the new bathymetric, geological and geophysical data gathered to support the submission. The Addendum includes new information on the limits of the continental shelf beyond 200 nautical miles from the baselines from which the breadth of the territorial sea is measured. Therefore, the Government of the Portuguese Republic prepared this Amended Executive Summary reflecting the changes in the outer limits of the Portuguese Republic's continental shelf beyond 200 M. The Addendum replaced the entire submission made by the Portuguese Republic on 11 May 2009.

In accordance with the Rules of Procedure of the Commission, as well as the decision of the Commission taken at its sixteenth session (), a communication is being circulated to all Member States of the United Nations and parties to the Convention, in order to make public the Amended Executive Summary of the submission, including all charts and coordinates contained therein.
