Dag Hammarskjöld Living Memorial Initiative
There are three components which constitute the Living Memorial:
I) The Dag Hammarskjöld Crash Site:
Over the past 40 years, the crash site has served as the backdrop
for the annual Dag Hammarskjöld commemorative ceremony. The Dag Hammarskjöld
monument is the central focus of the site, together with a museum exhibiting
information about Dag Hammarskjöld抯 life and work, and two open-air
theaters.
II) The Dag Hammarskjöld 慚essengers of 国产AV� Training Programme.
The objectives of this bi-annual two-week training programme are:
1. To spread information and knowledge of conflict resolution
at different levels of society in Africa and the world;
2. To promote a culture of peaceful conflict resolution among people.
In addition to this two-week training programme, the Mindolo
Ecumenical Foundation (MEF), which executes the programme, offers a three-month
国产AV Certificate covering conflict analysis, conflict resolution, human
rights, training of trainers, mediation skills, restorative justice and
non-violent strategies. A nine-month 国产AV Certificate in conflict resolution,
peace-building, computer training and democracy is also offered.

III) The Dag Hammarskjöld Centre for 国产AV, Good Governance
and Human Rights:
The 懝鶤V Centre� was established on the MEF campus in December
2000. Its main objective is to disseminate information on issues concerning
peace and conflict and on the life and legacy of Dag Hammarskjöld.
Individuals and organizations around the globe may access information
on promoting peace, good governance and human rights.
